LOCAL GOVERNANCE

Limerick Public Access Operations is under the governance of the Selectboard.  The Board oversees the budget, staffing, infrastructure and policies required.

Limerick's Public Access TV is 100% funded through franchise fees.  Limerick citizens voted to use 30% of this revenue stream for technology capital needs, with the remaining funds for Public Access operations.

In 2024 Limerick's equipment was upgraded to a new state of the art system.  The backup system at the Brick Town Hall was decommissioned and the new system installed in the Municipal Building.  A public address system remains at the Brick Town Hall.

The Spectrum Cable broadcast, Spectrum TV and YouTube.com livestream signals are managed by SRC-TV in Hollis, Maine. This ensures widespread accessibility for local municipal meetings and important announcements.

Archived recordings since April 2, 2024 are available at YOUtube.com (Town of Limerick ME) under LIVE or VIDEOS for anyone who may have missed the live broadcast or wishes to review past events.  Spectrum Channel 5 also replays recent meetings on a set schedule.

Selectmen, Budget, Planning, and Zoning Board of Appeals, Public Informational, and Special Town meetings are all broadcasted.  R.S.U. 57 School Board meetings in Waterboro are broadcasted.

ON BOARD OF DIRECTORS

SRC-Media's online media presence and local cable access channels are designed to help facilitate the exchange of news and information in Limerick. The director representing Limerick will help oversee Hollis station operations and assist with the formulation of the annual budget.

Board membership also calls for keeping the selectboard informed of station policies as well as overall mission support.

Ideally, the person chosen for this role will work constructively with station staff to facilitate local event coverage, produce public service

announcements, informative short films, and business profiles of relevance to the citizens of Limerick.

  Speedtests

Latency is the length of time it takes for data to travel to its destination and return to its source. Speed test applications display the results in milliseconds. The lower this number is, the better. Pings under 75 milliseconds are considered very good. Speeds over 200 milliseconds are considered poor.

Click to edit text. What do visitors to your website need to know about you and your business?

Upload speed refers to how quickly your connection can send something (data, in this case) from your device to the wider internet. This number is often not the one heavily advertised by service providers online, and this is on purpose. In short, most activities online do not require high upload speeds. Some do, however, including Skype and other video chat services, online gaming, and large cloud storage applications like Dropbox and Google Drive.

Download speed refers to how quickly your connection can retrieve data from a website or server online. Almost all activities require a certain amount of download speed, so this is the main number you’ll want to pay attention to when deciding how much internet speed you need. Streaming multiple TV shows or movies at the same time (especially 4K media) and downloading large files are both examples of activities that require higher download speeds than average.  Retrieved from External link opens in new tab or windowSpeed Test: Test the Speed of Your Internet Connection (broadbandnow.com)
