FOAA
In accordance with State of Maine's Freedom of Access Act (FOAA), the Town of Limerick's Public Access Officer is Dottie Richard.
The Town of Limerick requests that a FOAA request form be submitted to the Public Access Officer. The form can be obtained at the Limerick Municipal Building at 55 Washington Street during normal business hours. The Form is also available on-line on the FOAA page for your convenience to print at home and mail or email to: foaa@limerickme.org or deliver to the Municipal Building.
Public documents are subject to disclosure under Maine’s Freedom of Access Act unless confidentiality is required by some other provision of law.
In order for the body, agency or official to promptly respond to your request, you should be as specific as possible when describing the records you are seeking.
If a particular document is required, it should be identified precisely - preferably by author, date and title. If you cannot identify a specific record, you should clearly explain the type of records you are seeking, from what timeframe and what subject the records should contain.
A fee of 10 cents per 8 1/2 X 11 inch black and white page may be charged for copying.
The FOAA authorizes agencies or officials to charge $25.00 per hour AFTER two hours of staff time per request for search and retrieval.
If the estimate of the total cost is greater than $30, the official shall inform the requester before proceeding.
If the estimate of the total cost is greater than $100, the official may require a requester to pay all or a portion of the estimated costs to complete the request prior to the search, retrieval, compiling, conversion and copying of the public record, OR the requester has previously failed to pay a properly assessed fee under this M.R.S.A. Title 1 Chapter 13 in a timely manner.
